Summary:

In a country where one-third of the victims of sexual crimes are children, police training and a "zero-tolerance policy" can go a long way. Although rape in Somalia has received increased government and international attention over the last year, the situation for women and girls remains bleak. Our research found that armed assailants, including members of state security forces, operate with impunity as they sexually assault, rape, shoot and stab women. Women and girls living in the capital’s dire displacement camps are abused in their makeshift homes and as they walk to market, tend to the

Summary:

A group of 20 MPs have called for concrete action to be taken against “sickening” grooming gangs, as the government was accused of “letting down” thousands of victims of child sexual exploitation in the UK. In a letter to the Home Office noting “alarming” similarities in how the gangs of mostly Pakistani-heritage men operate across Britain, the cross-party group called forgovernment research into why the abuse is taking place. The MPs, who

Summary:
  • What price has been paid, is being paid, or might be paid at some stage, by all those public officials who tacitly or otherwise allowed these modern-day atrocities to go on, doing nothing to stop them?

  • Families of some of the abused girls related that they had tried consistently to raise the alarm over what was happening to their daughters, but that every door of the state was closed in their faces.

  • If Britain is to turn around the disgrace of its culture of 'grooming gangs', it should start by changing the risk-reward ratio between those who identify these monstrous crimes and those who have been shown to have covered them up.

Summary:

It is rape of the innocents on an industrial scale. First they came for white, teenage, under class girls in Rotherham, and we did not speak out – because we did not want to be called racist.

Next they came for white, teenage, under class girls in Oxford, and we did not speak out – because we did not want to be guilty of cultural imperialism.

Then they came for white, teenage, under class girls in Aylesbury and Bristol and Banbury and Derby and Halifax and Huddersfield and Keighley and Peterborough and Rochdale and Telford and we conducted investigations, appointed commissions and published reports – because we did not want to be called Islamophobic.

Now they’ve come for white, teenage, under class girls in Newcastle and we have still not learned our lesson – we are still terrified of being labelled Islamophobic.

Summary:

Halifax, Oxford, Rochdale, Bristol, Telford, Rotherham, Peterborough, Derby, Aylesbury, Newcastle. These are some of the hometowns of girls and women forever traumatised by their shocking childhood experiences at the hands of Muslim ‘grooming gangs’. The perpetrators of these gangs are not groomers. This is a misnomer. As Jules Gomes wrote, this is ‘rape of the innocents on an industrial scale’. These are rapists and some are paedophiles. And instead of helping these girls our authorities have failed them over and over again. The police, Crown Prosecution Service and social workers have shied from doing their duty, partly due to fears of being accused of racism, and partly due to their own inverse racism in perceiving the girls as ‘white trash’. The fear of naming the religion of the perpetrators of these rape gangs has overcome any sense of accountability and decency towards the victims.
